Newly Planted Apple Trees
This spring, we planted 8 young apple trees: 1 Paula Red, 2 Lobos, 2 honeycrips, 2 Pinovas & 1 Spartan.
We planted them in the clearing towards the center back of our lot. We had to cut down several trees, mostly Eastern Hemlock to give more light. We still have several mature maple that block the sun part of the day to this area. One of our Pinovas which is a couple of years older than our other apple trees had 3 fruit, which I pick while small to give the tree more chance to develop a better root system. By the end of summer our apple trees were all looking healthy.
